About Me

My name is Amber Peters and I am a graduating senior from East High School. The topic I have chosen to do my Capstone Project on is Healthy Nutrition Decisions. I would like to take this opportunity to provide you with information that has helped to make me the person that I am today. I lived in Faribault, MN for my first nine years of life. When I first moved to Memphis in the year 2000 I felt like an outsider that spoke unlike the other children at my school and in my neighborhood. When I first started attending East High School I felt like an outsider because of my ethnicity as well as my accent, but after a while I got use to it and grew into the environment and the people in it. When I first got into AJROTC I was just in the class so that I didn't have to take a gymnasium class but in the end my AJROTC class influenced me to have leadership, be self disciplined, have respect for teachers and others, and have courage.
As I started to put some of the things that I have been influenced to do I started earning honorable rewards throughout my high school years. I have remained on the honor roll throughout most of my high school years and have been rewarded some awards and certificates from my teachers and principle. I learned how to work well with others, give a productional speech about topics that you may know nothing about, and writing poetry about your school and what it means to you by being in Future Teachers of America. I am currently in the National Honor Society and in order to remain in it I must keep atleast a 3.0 grade average.
